Exhibition Space: Visit 1
We visited the space, and met the people who own it. I found there was mixed opinions when it came to exhibiting our work there. Firstly, they have large windows looking out onto the road, allowing us to place work in them, promoting and drawing people in to come and see more. As well as that, they have a bar which would enable a relaxed, and social environment for people to further enjoy the exhibition and use it as an opportunity to speak to each other more. To the side of the bar is another room, this one is a larger space in a square shape, opening into the bar area with two large double doors.
Originally, looking at this area didn’t seem like enough space for everyone. We were then given the chance to view upstairs as well. This would have been an additional cost, however, is something we all agreed would be needed. However, the downside to this would be the accessibility for those unable to use stairs. When this came up in conversation, there was mention of a tv, live-streaming upstairs for people unable to go up and view it.
Downstairs there is also a lot of seating areas, which we thought would have to be moved for our exhibition as we would need more space for our work. However, there were discussions of keeping a small seating area as a social space.
