Egyptian Hieroglyphics
The people in Ancient Egypt that wrote hieroglyphics were called Scribes and they believed, in Egypt, that it was invented by Gods. Hieroglyphics included approximately 100 different Symbols, therefore a scribe had to attend a special school due to how complexit it was.
Hieroglypnics were typically written on tablets and temple walls, but they were also written on papyrus reed. In order to create pages, the reeds were flattened, dried, and stuck togetner.
The reason I have decided to look at Egyptian Hieroglyphics is because it is a form of translation and decided it was a good area to exlore. In the sense of letters and secrecy, I thought the use of symbols and lack of understanding linked well with my topic. For this reason, I am going to work with air dry clay and carve into it to create my own carvings.
