Working with Clay: Hieroglyphics

I have decided to work with clay as it perfectly links with Egyptian Hieroglyphics.

Using tools, I then carved symbols into the clay. These were random symbols that I had found on Google.

For this, I did minimal, large symbols to dramatise what I was doing. On another piece of clay, I blocked off sections and carved smaller, more realistic symbols.

On the final piece of clay, I pressed different objects into it to see how that would look. Also, I purposefully left it to dry in an awkward, bent position for a more rough outcome.

In order to take this further, I am gong to paint the clay an older, Egyptian like colour. To improve I would do further research so that the symbols mean something/ say something.
