Post-Stroke handwritting

In 2021 my dad suffered a severe stroke. From this, he had to re learn how to walk, to talk, to write, and to do day to day things we all take for granted. My dad was right-handed, and this happened to be the side he had his stroke. From this happening, he has had to re learn multiple things in terms of writing. This includes spelling and physically writing the letters/words. This event taking place had a huge impact on me and my family and so beginning this project I knew this would be an area of inspiration.

As seen, his handwriting in very different to what it once was and is almost childlike. As well as wanting to explore this area from the beginning, I thought the shaky and unique handwriting linked well to soldiers writing from the way in certain ways. Soldiers experienced shaky hands whilst writing due to factors such as anxiety and neurological conditions.
